Engagement Day

Tanya and I are getting hitched! I caught her by surprise and she hasn't lost her smile since. We were in London after my conference in Newcastle. We were staying with Tanya's former Chicago roommate Rachel and her boyfriend in their gorgeous London flat. On our second full day there, we had planned to go out and see some sights. First on the list was the London Eye. I knew I was going to do it on the Eye, but didn't know when. I scoped out the situation and decided it best to wait until we were 3/4 of the way around (what if Tanya passed out?) We got to the 3/4 point and I was a bit nervous now. It was really hot in the car (for real.) I wanted to give the camera to someone else on our car so they could snap action shots, but we had a somewhat unfriendly foreign passengers with us. I abandoned that told Tanya I had to tie my shoe. Yes, I stole that from The Office. She noticed my shoe wasn't untied and I said my thing. Tanya doesn't remember a word I said, but she did say yes. She also said "are you kidding" about a dozen times. Like most people who just got engaged, Tanya and I enjoyed the moment by taking in the Winston Churchill Museum. I'm not sure if Ironman training will get me out of wedding planning, but it's the best excuse I've got!
